To install gaim-vv 1.2.0, first choose one of two install methods, from autopackages, or from the source tarballs.
Autopackage install
1) Download and execute gst-jpeg2000.autopackage
2) Download and execute gaim-vv-1.2.0.autopackage
Source tarball install
Libj2k installation:
1) Download and save the libj2k tarball to your home directory
2) Extract it by doing tar xzf libj2k-0.0.9.tar.gz
3) cd libj2k-0.0.9
4) ./configure --prefix=/usr && make
5) su
6) make install
GST-Jpeg2000 installation:
1) Download and save the gst-peg2000 tarball to your home directory
2) Extract it by doing tar xzf gst-jpeg2000-1.0.0.tar.gz
3) cd gst-jpeg2000-1.0.0
4) ./configure --prefix=/usr && make
5) su
6) make install
7) exit (the root environment)
8) gst-register
9) gst-inspect-i386 jpeg2000

gaim-vv installation:

Still having problems?
Check the forum,
if that doesn't help, first make sure you have
downladed gaim-vv and extra packages. Check the
gaim-vv buglist
as well as the gaim-vv forum.
If you think you've found a bug, and if you can't see your bug mentioned there, submit a new one. If your gaim-vv is crashing, please obtain a backtrace
and append it at the end of your report. Please use the same procedure as described in the
gaim gdb page.
Additionally, if you have any platform specific tips,
we'd really appreciate a post in the gaim-vv forum
about how you got it to run.
